I was thinking about looking at vortex strikefire.    How are the red dots scopes as far as accuracy at disance=..  If I wanted to shoot up to a maximum of 300 yards targets would these work.  If not what power do most of you use out to 300 yards.

You need to go to INDUSTRY ––- then to VORTEX OPTICS forum and read some posts there.  I have read many a good thread there on the Vortex products.

Depending on the dot size you could probably do 300 yard shooting with a red-dot sight, but thats probably reaching its upper range limits.

Considering a 4moa dot (quite common, what most of the last generation Aimpoints have) will cover a 12" size target, you SHOULD be able to get hits on a "chest size" target. With a 2moa dot it will cover up a 6" target.

In most cases with a red-dot at that range, you're shooting "minute of man". I think that Vortex red-dots come with a 2x magnifier as well, but im not sure, so that could be an added bonus for ya as well

Shooting at steel sihouettes is easy with aimpoints out to around 400 yards. I don't know about a Strikeforce.
