I have been looking at the Redfield line of scopes and they seem packed full of features for the price. As I understand it they are now owned by Leupold and made in Oregon?? Just wondering if any of you knowledgeable people have any opinions on them. Thanks, Mosin Man
P.S. First post :D |
| I just bought one of those Redline series scopes by Redfield and its pretty damm nice for the money. And if you can find any in stock with the accu-range reticle, its pretty sharp. The only reason I sold it was because i needed more power and they only make it up to 3-9 with a 50mm lens. Very nice glass for 150 bucks though. I wouldnt trust my life with it but I would shoot paper and animals with it all day. |
| The thing that gets me about the accu-range is that in southern Iowa we really dont shoot anything over 250 yards or so and my range only goes out to 200 yards so it would almost be pointless in my eyes. Unless you could zero it in center at 50yds? and then go up to 150 250 350 450? |
| I have four Redfield Revolutions mounted on AR's. Two 3x9x40's and two 4x12x40's. All with the accu-point reticles. Very clear glass and positive movement. I call them Leupold VXII's in sheep clothes. Leupold is marketing them as price point scopes with Leupold full customer service and warranty. I am extremely pleased with the scopes. Buy em' while you can before the intro price goes up. |

I have two
One is pre-Leoupold Wide View Tracker The other is pos Leoupold that I got from Academy The later seems more clear. Also the eye relief range is between 2.5 and 5 inches. Which allows you to shoot prone, sitting, and standing without much changing the position of your head. |
