Just curious for the ones that have the Redi Mag Mod is it worth it and is there really that much of a differance between the lightweight and the standard Redi Mags (other than price)?

I have a redi mod and am thinking of selling it if that means anything. Just adds too much unneeded bulk IMO and then the controls are slightly altered, you could always use a magpul BAD though to help fix that. YMMV

I had a redi mag and I loved it. It did add more weight and the controls were a little different but talk about fast mag changes.

I have a redi-mag, and I am turning it into a Redi-Mod myself.  The weight itself is not the issue for me, the loaded mag it holds is far heavier, I want the 45deg cut in the bottom of the Redi-Mag to allow me to see the mag well better.  So, if I am doing the big cut, why not do the rest of it as well.

I love my Redi-Mag, quick mag changes, spare ammo right there with the rifle.  It works well for me.

I think he's asking more about the difference between the Mod and the Mag

I haven't used a Redi-Mag, but do have a Redi-Mod.  My only complaint is that as a lefty, the mag release lever needs to be bent out for me to get a positive grip with my left index finger otherwise my finger just slips off the bar without releasing the mag.  Coupled with a Magpul B.A.D. Lever, this is a great setup.

I was just curious between the an 80 dollar price to the 175 dollar price tag and if the extra weight loss is worth it or not. I really like the idea of it just want to make sure its worth the $. Thanks

Doh! Sorry
If you are a whiz with the dremel or know someone who is I think it would be easy enough to do, If not I'd look for a used one from someone like me who bought it and now doesn't care for it
