OK,  who has actually used this setup?
Did you stick with it?   Does it have any drawbacks?
Did you get rid of it?  If so, why?
I see there are a couple of generations of these.
Any reason to avoid one or the other?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I have a Gen1, and have taken it on and off more times than I can remember  I can never decide if it feals right or is even needed.

Gen2 has a button to allow faster use of the bolt release ( the part can be bought and retro-fitted to the Gen1 )

Gen3 has added the ability to eject the spare mag with out ejecting the one in the gun ( or maybe vice-versa or both, I forget )

there is also a 'quick detatch' model.

before getting any, just get a simple/cheap mag connector to see if you even like the feal-balance of the gun with two mags on it.

Great idea.   That did not cross my mind.   Cheaper and no gun alteration.
Thanks

I've got a Gen I and a Gen II.

I like them and for most of the places I have my M4, thats about all that I would probably need. (exiting patrol car while wearing non-tactical uniform).

The Gen II Bolt hold open is on my RRA duty gun, the Gen I is on the home defense M4.

They can be had for mid 50s in the EE, and they can be a pita to put on.

The Gen I is at least six years old and with no worries or issues, other than I broke a mounting screw. The factory sent me a whole replacement hardware kit with no cost.
