Would someone be kind enough to explain the difference between a Trijicon Reflex and a Trijicon Reflex II to me, please? Thanks in advance |

Only difference as far as i know is the reticle design. Reflex was just a plain dot, where as the Reflex2 has triangle, dot and chevron with a wider range MOA. Also the Reflex2 had a new model added to its line up the Cyalume stick brightness enhancer. Tri-Power is the next generation Trijicon red dot technology, how well it works is still up in the air. |

I'm at my desk, looking at my 6.5 dot Reflex and 12.9 triangle Reflex II. - The Reflex II is stamped "Reflex II". All other markings are the same, to include the military NSN on top. - Externally they both look the same. - In my unscientific opinion, the Reflex II has a deeper tint to it, a more pronounced purple. There are several differences between the Reflex & Reflex II (covered in the article here: http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/reflexsightreview.msnw?pgmarket=en-us In a nutshell: The Reflex II has a hood over the back of the sight - the Reflex lacks this hood. The Reflex II is threaded in the front to accept the Killflash or the adjustable Polorizing Filter (which allows for more contrast in bright environments). The Reflex II is available in a dot (various sizes) or a triangle reticle - the Reflex could be had only in dot. The Reflex II weighs 0.04oz more [;)] The Reflex II uses a different lens coating material. When looking at it its more yellow/green while the Reflex is an orange. This shows up in the reticle as the Reflex's reticlue looks more orange, while the Reflex II's looks more yellowish. Personally I find the Reflex's orange easier to see - especially in low light. The heavy bluish tint (when viedwed from the shooters side) of the Reflex interfers with with color discrimination (especially red & orange - which look black). The Reflex II really has little tint (with the polorizing filter off) and doesn't intefer with color discrimination.
