| I've just finished reading the Boston Gun Bible where he trashes the Armalite AR-10. How does the DPMS stack up in terms of reliability? Thanks. |
what issues have you been having. all i shoot is handloads, havent had an issue. as long as you fl size correctly, they should run. mag mods will cure ftf. |

"what issues have you been having. all i shoot is handloads, havent had an issue. as long as you fl size correctly, they should run. mag mods will cure ftf." This is a point that has been belabored to nausea. I have tried all the tricks to fl size and use previous cases fired in the same rifle and only neck sizing. Fact is: What it won't chamber, my BAR, BLR, M1A, and Steyr shoot with no issues. I just haven't sent it back to DPMS for any work yet. I believe the chamber needs to be throated just a 1/1000 of an inch or two. I envy those who can reload for it, as reloads are all I normally shoot. Thanks for asking |
if you think you have a tight chamber, run a chamber brush on a drill with some polishing compound. long or short throat would only come into play when loading vld off the lands or jump issues affecting accuracy. good fl size, fireformed cases with the shoulder set back .002, and tumbling to get the lube off; if that dont work somethings wrong. if your fireformed measure under virgin you may have a short chamber. id try to figure it out, comm match ammo is too expensive to shoot. cheers. |
