Concerning reloading 223 since I am new to ARs and reloading I have been told that you may not be able to reload a .223 Rem brass after shooting it in a 5.56 chambered barrel because of the longer throat of the 5.56. Can the .223 Rem brass be reloaded using LEE .223 Rem dies after being fired in the 5.56 or does the brass become too deformed to be safe? I am starting off with a LEE Breech Lock Challinger Kit that was given to me to get started. I have picked up and started reading the Lyman 49 Manual and the Modern Reloading Manual to start with and planing to get the ABCs of Reloading. |

I load it about 8 times then toss it.
[/quote That's pretty good - are you full length sizing for auto loader or neck sizing for bolt? Only way I can get that many full lenght sizing is by annealing the cases. Doing that, I can reload until the neck gets thin from stretching. |

Some guys on here say they shoot them till the neck splits then toss. I figure whatever differences there are will be fireformed. From what I understand fireforming doesnt affect case life. I know some guys that shoot Ackley improved calibers who say that the fireformed cases last just as long or longer. |
