What do you know about Remingtons new R-25 ? I assume It is probably the same as the Bushmaster 308.

Why are you asking about this here?  This is the AR10 forum.

No, it's not the same as the defunct Bushmaster .308/7.62x51 AR.  It IS a DPMS.

Give a check in the DPMS industry forum for the straight skinny on that rifle.

Well, this would seem to be the place to ask about tha AR platform in .308 and even though helping was probably the furthest thing from your mind you did point out that it is a DPMS and gave a nudge in the right direction.

No, this is not the place to ask about an AR platform in .308 that is not an AR10.

Looks like a DPMS.  Since Cerberus owns Remmy, Bushy, and DPMS it would figure.

People don't pay attention. If it's not pointed out to them, they will continue to post in the wrong forum, therefore defeating the purpose of this one and simply making it ar variant forum #2.

As annoying as LarryG can be, his efforts are appreciated in keeping this forum from being inundated with DPMS/Bushmaster/RRA/etc posters talking about their "AR10s"

I think most people don't understand this is Armalite only.  Yea its in the topic, but since there are NO other manufacturer or model specific forums in the AR-15 community, its easy for people to get confused and think this is the right place for AR-10 type weapons.  AR-10 continues to be a generic term for 308 AR.  Thats the curse of being first, and thats what people see.

Given the increasing number of 308 AR manufacturers out there I don't understand why we have a 308 specific forum.  308 is not just a variant any more.  If Remington is selling them, its pretty mainstream.   Then variants could continue to be for things like 458 and 300 whisper and stuff.

The hierarchy of forums causes the confusion more than anything.

There are 9 posts in this forum on non-Armalite .308 rifles and 8 of them weren't told to get of this forum. The AR10 FAQ and information thread is full of comparison information of Armalite Ar10s and other .308 rifles. Easy mistake to make.

Even Armalite came on and politely told the OP where to find the info he was looking for without making the OP look stupid.

What happened to professionalism?

More questions the better. I have made some stupid questions in this forum and there will be more to come. If we can educate those people, then maybe we can save them from f___ing up and buying something other than a Armalite. Being a Auto Tech at GM dealer if I talked down to every one that asked a question there would be no customers. In fact I usually try to answer there questions the best I can. And in the process sometimes gain a customer. Just a thinking out loud.

Shouldn't this thread be for .308 variants for the AR not an Armalite thread? Shouldn't this thread be under Armalites forum?

If Armalite rates a thread here, why not the other manufacturers? Seems to be unfair at face value.

PEOPLE!

Cut out the pissing match!

Do we really need an all-out war over where this stupid thread is going to live? Jeez - give it a rest and get on with answering the OP's question.

Yeah, I see Cold brought it to the AR Variants Forum so we could have some fun.
