Hi all,

A newbie here so go easy.  I tried the search but couldn't find my answer.  How do I go about removing the front sling mount?  I have a quad rail and a side mount already in place so the stock location is just hanging there useless.  It looks like a roll pin was mushroomed in there.  FYI, it is a new Bushmaster Sopmod with a YHM free float rail and standard FSB if that helps.

Thanks,
Mike

The easiest way is to just take a punch that will fit in the flattened side's depression, and just whack the crap out of it with a hammer until you push the rivet through.  The sling loop will drop free when you're done!

Hope this helps.

When I removed mine I just used a punch to knock out the rivet. No problems, rivet came out sling, mount fell to the table.

Thanks everyone!  i figured it is just a pin but didn't want to mess up my new carbine by being reckless.

Thanks,
Mike
