When i removed the safety to put an ambi, I dropped the detent and it still wouldnt come out so I pulled out the hammer portion and it fell out is their an easier way?

Depressing the disconector?

or did I not move some thing correctly?

yes you will need to also remove the trigger in order to remove/replace the safety,  It is the tailpiece on the aft end of the trigger that is interfering.  NOTE you should check the safety for correct functioning before you button everything up.

Maybe on your rifles, but not on my 5.

Just loosen the grip screw enough so the safety detent drops down enough to not snag its' slot in the safety, cock the hammer and press it down onto the top of the trigger/ disconnector surface, and pull the safety out.

Works every time.

Thx I knew there had to be an easier way because after popping out the hammer it just fell out, and the hammer only looks like it just puts pressure on the disco.

if you have a stock trigger just push on the oppisite side of the trigger an rotate it from safe to fire and it should pop out
