I need to remove the trigger guard to install a magpul one.  The rollpin holding the front of the guard in seems hard to get out.  Anyone have some tips in accomplishing this?

ummmmm...the "front" roll pin?....should be a spring loaded detent...the rear is a 1/8"...use a 1/8" drift punch to drive it out BUT, support the ears on your lower fully or you risk breaking them off if you tap a little too hard ......

Correct.

The front pin is actually a spring loaded release pin. The trigger guard can be released in the front, pivoted down towards the pistol grip, allowing the weapon to be fired in the winter wearing thick gloves or mittens.

You need to simply release the front pin, and tap out the rear roll pin.
