Ok. I have no idea where to start or what to do. I would like to replace the fsb then replace it with a low profile gas block so I can add a Troy flip up front sight. Which gas block do I buy? Where can I find directions? What tools? I'm sure YouTube probably has a video on how to do it and what to use. But I am at work right now. So any ideas?
Thanks! |

Just watched this actually in the hopes of answering some of my own questions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rK4XzPll9U8 WTF? He just stuck the FSB back on and put the pins in? How does he know it's not canted? Canting is the function of the machining operation. If the taper pin holes are correctly milled in the barrel, the sight has no choice but to line up straight. This is a lot harder to get right than most people think. It's always a good idea to soak the front sight base in Kroil or any other penetrating oil before trying to disassemble it. I use a large diameter punch and a good sized hammer to get it started. Once the pins have moved a little the rest is easy. I have resorted to using a block of wood to cushion hammer blows to the rear of the front sight on tight fitting bases. Heat helps too. Some almopst fall apart, others are semi permanetly wed. If it's ever been apart it's easier the next time around. |
