| Does it change harm accuracy? |
|
The only way i see it changing accuracy is if the harmonics of the barrel are changed and they will be if its reprofiled. The question is if they were changed for better or worse. If there is some profile you want it should be reletivly safe. I had a midlength barrel reprofiled and lost some accuracy so i just need to find out what shoots better in it again. BTW when i say less accurate i mean .5 to .75" at 100 yds so that may not mean anything to you especially if your not using a magnified optic. |
I like to think that I do a BETTER job than many factories because I have cut down LOTS of factory barrels and know how poor their concentricity is. It's not uncommon to find 0.020" or more wall thickness variation in factory barrels. With the bore that off-center, the barrels tend to wander as they heat up. When the bore is kept in the middle of the barrel, the barrels will not wander as much when they heat up. |
