Greetings from Iraq!! I know that this may not be the right place to post this, but I’m hoping that my fellow AR-15 Shooters/Builders/Collectors can help me out. I’m currently looking for “Like-New” serviceable items for my issued Colt, M4 Carbine. So if you have any of the following items laying around your work bench, in a spare parts box or just getting in your way, I’m more than willing to put them to GOOD use here in Baghdad, Iraq. Here are the following requested items; 1- CAR-15 Handguard set 2- CAR-15 Buttstock Assembly that will fit over the original Colt Buffer Tube 3- A2 Pistol Grip I plan to switch out the worn out M4 items with the above parts. I know that I can get replacement parts through our unit’s supply system, but like everything in the Army, it takes time. Plus, I prefer the older CAR style Buttstock over the newer M4 version. At least to me, it seems to shoulder better while in body armor. As for the handguards, I guess I’m still “old school” and I’m not into all the fancy new stuff yet. Also, with the CAR style handguards, I’ll know in the dark, immediately, by feel, which weapon is mine. Which is a BIG plus in a hostile environment. As for the job OUR young Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Coastees are doing here on the ground, you can be very proud of them and OUR military as a whole. I’m proud to say that I’m part of the finest military force this world has ever seen!! Anyway, thank you for your time and I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter. Furthermore, I’m more than willing to pay a fair price for the request items, including the shipping charges to my unit’s APO address. If you have any further questions, please email me at; [email protected] Sincerely, “Bergunx” Sergeant First Class (E-7) Military Police, U.S. Army Reserve |

BTT we need to take care of our fellow ARFCOMers who are over in the sand box fighting their asses off so we can play on ARFCOM. I'm gonna start looking for a Colt CAR stock body in the EE. I should be able to find one in good condition for under $30. If any of you guys would like to throw a couple bucks towards it that would be great. Even though it's not alot of money I just don't have it right now or I wouldn't even ask you guys for help with this. I'm gonna look for one and I will post back the price when I find one and then if any one wants to chip in that would be great. thanks, Bill FOUND SOME STOCKS It against site rules to post a link to the EE but I found (3) different ads for Mil-Spec stock bodies. the OP said he wants the older CAR style instead of the Gen 2 M4 one (1) Colt Car that is $25.00 + $5 shipping (2) Colt Gen 2 M4 stock body $35.00 shipped (3) non Colt CAR stock body for $35.00 number 1 is obviously the best deal so do any of you guys want to chip in and buy it for the SFC. I quess we could send funds to the seller of the stock through paypal until we have enough to pay for it. We could have him ship it or he can send it to one of us and we can ship it. Shipping really isn't bad at all to Iraq. My shipping total was $1.11 for what I sent. what do you guys/gals think |

I just want to thank everybody for the support I've received with this request. I'm truly grateul for the parts and words of encouragement from the members of the AR15.com community. To be honest, it took me about a month before sending out this request because I didn't what to appear "greedy" or as some guy trying to pull a "fast one" here. I promise that all the parts that are sent will be put to good use over here in Iraq, if not by me, than by some other American Soldier who is also in need. Our unit's armorer/supply support unit is located at a different FOB (Forward Operating Base) and at times... most of the time, it's a pain dealing with the Army's supply system to get the simplest things. If my weapon was rendered unservicable, I would get another M4 rather quickly, but all the "spare" M4s I've seen are pretty "battle-harden" at this point in the war. Plus, I'm pretty attached to the one I have now... She a little on the worn side, but still full of spirit!! Again, thank you for all the help!! |
I will put $10 towards it so that leaves $20, come on guys let's help him out |

I mailed two A2 pistol grips, a set of CAR handguards, and I threw in a patrol sling for the A2 buttstock. It can be adapted to fit a collapsable stock M4, but it's designed for a fixed buttstock. It was mailed Tuesday, priority mail. One thing though- the post office guy said the correct zip code was 09316, not 0316. I hope he was right. If it was in fact supposed to be 0316, you may not be getting the package for a while! ![]() I hope the post office guy was right. From one warrior to another, God bless! PS- I was wondering why you needed A2 grips? Are they breaking on you under normal wear and tear, or are they getting damaged by more "catastrophic" means? Just curious. |
