| I have not shot a ton of different AR platforms. So I am kind of figuring out what I want. I have a friend that is willing to sell me parts he bought for a build that he can't do. If I'm in to it for 800 can I come out at least even if not makin some money if I decide to sell. I know a colt for example will always hold its value. Is the same true for parts builds. It's a stag lower with a spikes parts kit and a spikes le upper 16" with quad rails. Just based on parts it seems like a good deal. Just not sure what builds go for if I end up wanting a different setup |

Ya might wanna keep it considering there is a chance that Obammy will get re-elected. If that happens, then you can welcome the UN gun ban and thats when the SHTF.. Oh God....lets not even get into this. OP - a pieced together gun will never have as good a re-sale value as a manufactured gun from Colt, RRA, Bushmaster, etc.... IMO, if you are already talking about selling a gun you don't have, you probably shouldn't buy it just yet. |

Yeah I don't wanna rip anyone. Just unsure of retail value on parts guns. you might sell it to a "bubba" for that much if he has just returned from a BAss Pro or a Wal Mart and saw Bushmasters for $1000 (yes, i saw a Bushmaster at a local Oklahoma City area Wal MArt last week ) but you won't get that much from a relatively knowledgable consumer ––- thankfully, there are plenty of "bubba's" to go around ––- the only "parts builds" that you may be able to ask a premium for is perhaps a boutique build - a Larue barreled upper and matching lower with a quality BCG, nice trigger, like a Geiselle or a JP, good furniture, you can ask whatever you want –––– (Larue, Noveske, LMT, Knight - couple others) but a mid grade upper on top of a parts kit lower of unidentified origin (most of them are DPMS, Rock River or CMMG it seems) doesnt do much for most people outside of the obvious value of being a good shooter for the builder |
