Thanks to all that replied to my original thread.  I ordered a NDS partial rail receiver today to get things started.  I'm also looking for an A1 upper on the EE for a XM16E1 build.

I haven't heard too much about bolt groups for retro rifles and I don't know anything about M16 bolts other than the difference for FA.  Other than FA serrations, what do you look for in selecting these parts?

In the world of bolts, other than differences for FA, will the same bolt work in an A1, A2, A3, A4, A5..... (oops, my ignorance is showing).

If they can be purchased off the shelf, who makes a good group?

Thanks,
Bugs762

Thanks Mike.  Great site, I've been spending quite a bit of time there lately.  I'm hoping my MO gets to you while you still have partial fence receivers.  Will you be making more in the future?

Best,

Yes, we will do more NDS-XM16E1 lowers soon.

The first 100 parts cut on the new forgings will be "A1's". Then we will start on the second batch, which will be the "XM's".

I hope to have the XM's available by the end of the year.

With the new A1 forgings not having to make the buffer ring cuts speeds up the process?   Damn...and I waited over a year for a Tactics A1 lower!

ETA...I'm gonna buy one but i don't know what to build just yet!

Yeah, it speeds thing up a lot. The machining on the A1's will be done in a week or so.

But I still have to blend the front, de-bur, and bead blast the little buggers before they go to anodizing.
