FWIW having a draian hole doesn't necessarily help - I have a C MP C Chrome bore barrel where the FSB rusted completely shut - had a hell of a time getting the sight post out. |
| In all honesty I'm not sure they were intended to be drain holes. If anyone knows better I'd gladly be corrected. My take on it is that it's easier/quicker cheaper to drill and tap a through hole than a blind one, and the hole was added for manufacturing purposes. |
