Picked up a nice early 604 upper and type B butt stock at my local gun show today. I think the upper is a rebuild. It has an FN barrel and I pretty sure it is a refinished upper.
Lots of good green paint with just a touch of brown showing through. Couldn't get the color to pop in my pics. I'll try some different lighting.
Upper looks like it may not have been shot.

Whoa.........congrats. 604 uppers don't come earlier than that. Now all you need is a M VP 12 barrel with a cast FSB and a early bend carbon steel gas tube.

Nice type B score! I'm always amazed at how thick the green is when it is chipped. You don't get that point of view when it is worn.

I got a MP 12 barrel at the last gun show.
retroblackrifle.com says that is correct. What do y'all think?
I must admit I have not done research on an early 604. Partial fence, standard lower parts, type D stock, three prong. I think I can build one of those.
