hello,
where can i get a selector without the notch on the right side? i'd prefer usgi, but a quality repro will be fine. thanks.

I've had the best luck at gunshows. At the last local show I swapped a parts guy three of my notched selectors for his without. I would refrain from using usgi when notchless semi's are available. Send me an email if you can't find one. There's another show this weekend.

I got a semi auto parts kit with a USGI selector but the one section was ground down which made it a full part.  Sarco was selling them.  They sell them separete.  Couldn't you do that instead of looking for the earlier semi one?

Check out the earlier thread.  Unfortunately, Midway doesn't have the Oly selector.

DPMS selectors were notchless a couple of years back, but may not be now. The down side was that the notchless right side was so full of tool marks that I had to smooth 'em down and refinish them before I'd put them in a rifle

IIRC, they also have a $50 minimum.

Sure, but with the prices they sell their Colt parts for, $50 comes up really fast!

Brownells also sells Colt pieces, and they DO NOT have a $50 minimum.

For those who want to use a more affordable milsurp M16 selector, grinding down the shoulder that depresses thedisconnector is fine, but I've carried it a step further---by filling the full auto notch and the channel around it w/epoxy putty .  This gives me a selector that's not only technically legal, and when installed won't go around any further than the semi/safe only positions.  That way, I don't have to worry about convincing some range officer that the thing is semi only; even if it does go all the way around.

Since my own particular nuttiness w/retros, is that they be a "Colt" as possible, this lets me use milsurp Colt marked selectors, which I can get for $8-!0 apiece, and not have to pay Colt's outregeous price for a semi only piece

They waived the $50 minimum on my first order, a 9mm sight arpeture.
