Is anyone familiar with "retro carbine parts"? I'm going to build either a 630 or 727 and just beginning the parts search. Of what you are wanting to do, a 727 will be much easier. You will need an A2 upper receiver, an A1 or A2 lower receiver, 14.5" M4 type barrel assembly, a 2-pos. mil-spec buffer tube and fiberlite stock ( or something similar), a M16 type BCG, and charging handle. The stocks are available through Model 1 Sales, M&A Parts, and Essential Arms. Nodak Spud has the 2-pos. buffer tube and A1 and A2 lowers. Stripped and complete A2 uppers are available in a few places like Del-Ton, Fulton Armory, Rock River Arms, Brownells (DPMS upper), and a few others. The 14.5" M4 profile barrel can be sourced from a few places. You can get charging handles and BCGs from Palmetto State Armory for a good price. The 630 needs a slickside upper (like a 602 or 604). It may also have the 4.5" moderator. Specs call for a 11.5" .625" barrel just like the XM177E2. The 630 varies from the XM177E2 in that it has a slickside upper receiver. You would also need a vinyl acetate coated aluminum stock (or a new powder-coated aluminum stock from Essential Arms. It also requires the A1 full-fence lower receiver. Again, this would be source from Nodak Spud. It also uses a standard M16 type BCG. |

Thats them. Are they reputable ? I've ordered a barrel and some retro grey small parts from them (two separate orders about a year apart) and I have no complaints about their quality or service. Can't speak for their carbine parts but I plan on ordering from the again. Their website kinda sucks though.
