I have about decided to pick up the Leupold VX-3 1.5-5x-20mm Illuminated Reticle scope.
I've tried searching here, searching Google to find pictures / reviews / write ups of the scope... but apparently it's scarce. Does anyone have any info. on this thing, or someone who has better searching skills than me find anything? The one article I did manage to drum up said that the German #4 had a red dot in the center, but looking at the picture on Leupolds site there is a dot lit up, plus the reticle crosshair is lit up as well... so which is it? And I hate to sound stupid here but what is the 'metric included' part about? Leupold VX-3 Illum. Reticles And last thought, in this price range (higher than 4x variable, daylight illumination, supposedly good glass etc etc) for the price point of ~$600.00 that I should even consider? |

Update - foudn this thread - ar15.com - 1.5x5 Circle Dot
But not much info / pics of the reticle. |

I was a Leupold fan, but all the power rings are stiff on mine, unmoveable when cold. Google "Leupold power ring difficult". It's all over the place. No loosening up over time or anything huh? This makes me think for sure... got any other ideas for me in the 1.25 1.5x over 4x variable daylight visible illumination in the $600 range? |

I have a 30mm scope like this with the German #4 reticle on my of my M4geries. Only the dot in the center lights up.
The selector ring moves without difficulty on mine. I got the German #4 reticle because that is the same reticle that I have in my Kahles 1-4x on the rifle that I use the most for hunting. |

Thanks for the info. - I don't understand why they have the reticle pictures that show the crosshair illuminated on their site, if it's only just the dot that lights up. |
