I have been up and down on my current AR for a while now and have decided to take a new path.  After getting a bit bored with plain iron sights in a mostly scoped bench atmosphere I just scoped my flattop with a decent though not great 4.5-14x scope.  It seems to hold zero well on past guns and shoots the box well so it works for me.  It may not be amazing but it holds as true as I can tell and as such works for my playing around.  The next biggest problem I see with my rifle is the trigger.  It is horrendous.  As many of you I'm sure know words really don't describe it.  The issue I have is it seems most aftermarket triggers seem to be either set for NM and are at around 4+ pounds or are VERY nice and follow with a VERY high price.  I was hoping for something I can get around a pound or so that is crisp but not break the bank nice.  I don't need ounces and I don't need to make weight for competition.  I am looking to play at the bench a bit and a 1-2 pound pull weight seems about right without getting scary light.  I like the idea of a trigger with adjustable weight so on the few fairly rare occasions I go hunting I could increase the weight for a safer trigger.

So with a bit of a budget in mind what would you go with?  From all I have seen there doesn't seem to be much of a market or at least aftermarket for an inexpensive middle ground between competition 4lb and bench competition ounces.  I don't have a real problem working with say an RRA NM trigger if it is really the best bang for the buck but any suggestions would be great.  I am looking to spend about $100-150 but am not limited only to that much.  I just don't shoot enough or with enough desire to drop that much more money into this gun that seems to be nothing but a money black hole.

w/ that budget, a WOA tuned RRA 2 stage might be the bet (h/w, i dont think you can get it to a lb break...but, mr springfield in the EE might be able to help w/ his trigger mods for ~$30 and get it ~2 lbs or so)

CMCs, JPs (my other choice for the price), but more likely, the Timney drop in triggers (which i believe can be had in a near 1lb as is) are your bets for under $200

I went into ADCO today and picked up an RRA NM trigger.  It works good enough.  It is my first experience with a two stage trigger and it seems to work well.  I can't wait to get to the range now and try things out.  I may send it off to Mr Springfield but only if I think it is really hurting group sizes.  I have a feeling there a lot of other influences that will need to be taken care of first until the trigger is the weak link.

On a side note let me say I will buy every AR related item I ever need from ADCO from now on.  There will never be another company I will go to.  I have stopped in their store three times, once looking for a couple springs to fix my mistakes, once for a silencer, and this last time for the RRA trigger group.  The first time I was in there they gave me more than my share of springs for a single dollar.  I expected to pay at least 5 if not 10 dollars for what I was asking and I left with two sets of what I wanted for a single dollar.  The second time I went in I asked about another AR part and was told that they would sell it to me if I absolutely insisted but if I skipped it a simple fix would do which saved me a good $90.  It was honestly a part I was ready to put money on and was told I didn't need too.  Then today I went in looking for help on triggers and the same person I have dealt with all three times (a younger gentleman) directed me away from more expensive options to the RRA trigger,  He explained to me that for what I wanted it was the best deal and didn't milk me for more money.  I was willing to spend more that trip but he told me the right way to go and saved me money.  As a person who works in retail I have seen and heard about everything there is out there.  It takes a truly great person to save the consumer a buck and that is what has happened three times in a row for me.  Once could be a slip by the salesman.  Three times is something I can't explain beyond great people working for a cause they enjoy.

As I said for any part I ever need for any reason that ADCO firearms carries I will buy from them.  They are quite possibly the nicest and totally the most honest people I have ever met in the firearm sector.  If you haven't done yourself the favor of dealing with these people please next time you have an order call them and talk to them.  Their internet site is great but no site will ever give you such a great feeling as talking to the people that actually work there.  I know I am starting to sound like a total kiss ass but I can't get over their willingness to do the right thing even if it means not making the most money on the day.  They truly are looking to make it long term even if that means a slightly less of a short term and for that as I have said I will buy everything possible from them in the future.

Most firearm places treat me like I owe them something.  ADCO has repeatedly treated me like I was their most valuable customer even though my most expensive purchase was only $250.   A lot of stores have ignored me from the start, let alone when they knew what I could afford.  ADCO has not only respected the fact I can't dump loads of money on a project but they continually point me to the best bang for the buck no matter what it ends up making them.  There will never be words that describe how much I appreciate how I have been treated by ADCO.  That line states it all.  I want to go on forever about my feelings for them but I can't put it into words and as such I will just call it quits.  If you are reading bigbore I thank you even if it isn't you that helped me.
