I about to order a RRA Predator Pursuit Rifle.  I'm also going to order a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x50 to put on it.  I don't have a clue of which rings to get or what height to get..  I'm not really interested in any quick release rings.  I want a good solid set.  This will be my first AR.

Thanks,
Darrell

You will need either extra high rings, a scope riser base or a one piece mount designed for the AR. Personally I prefer a one piece mount (Larue, Armalite, etc.). A riser base and rings works fine too. I don't care for the extra high rings attached directly to the receiver but it can work fine too. If money isn't an issue the Larue SPR mount is probably the best option.

It's important to know if rings are going to give you the eye relief you need, as they mount many scopes too far back for some shooters.

If you need more eye relief, like with the eyepiece ahead of the charging handle, rings won't do, and you'll need an extended rail with lower rings (medium works for me and my scopes) or a one-piece mount that moves the scope forward, like the LaRue or the Armalite.

Rings or one-piece are the most solid, and an extended rail with rings has more connections to deal with.
