I only know  what I see on the website...
Is there anyone with any experience with the Robinson XCR?
Thanks!

Check the General Firearms Section, as it's not an AR...

Funny it certainly appears to have an AR lower...

Yes it has an AR pistol grip and takes AR mags, but that's pretty much where the similiarities end. I shoot with two people that have them and they seem to work OK. There has been some sort of bolt recall, so if you buy one you may want to make sure it has the modification already done, otherwise you need to send the gun back to Robinson.

There are about two parts in the lower of the XCR that are the same as that of an AR.
The grip and the mag release button. That said, what it does have works really well.
The bolt recall was really a modification to the firing pin to prevent slam fires with weak primers. The other thing that happened was a FCG part in the first few rifles was too soft and promptly replaced by RA. All other problems I have seen are traceable back to the user (such as barrel bolt loosening and stove pipes) and not the gun. You might also hear "the bolt carrier just falls out of the gun" recited here from people who don't own an XCR but just read Correia's review in SWAT. You do have to be ready to grab it when you field strip the gun but you know it is going to happen so it is not like it is a suprise. Suppose you drop it in the middle of the sandbox as the SWAT article hypothesizes. It is going to be alot easier to find the bolt and bolt carrier of the XCR (you don't strip the bolt when cleaning an XCR) than any of the small parts you might drop while cleaning the bolt carrier group of an AR.

I like the XCR more than AR15. It's just as accurate, less fouling, has a beefier bolt, better extraction, has a folder and adjustable stock option, monolithic rail, free float etc etc. Overall the design is just better, but what do you expect since the AR15 design is 50 years old.

I will only keep my Colt 6520 because well...its a colt. But I will sell off the other ar15's. With the XCR I just dont need them
