I Just put up a post a couple days ago talking about my purchase of my first AR 15.  So far bushmaster seems like the brand to get.  I talked to somone today who swore on Rockriver though. He showed me how they had great stock sights and a nice trigger on the gun. it was a lot less the bushmasters A3 too. I was pleased with the gun from what he should me, so I asked him about reliablilty. I asked if it was as reliable as bushmasters?  He said that it was. I just wanted some other opinions on it? it was $650 verses and M4A3 bushmaster that was $999.  So it has caught my attentions. Anyway, just wanted your opinions. thanks.
Oh, one more thing. DOes anyone reload there own ammo? Do you save a lot of money from it? I am intrested in getting into that to save some cash on my 223 rounds if i get an AR.

Thanks!

I love my RRA Midlength. I bought the complete lower used for cheap. I bought the upper brand new from RRA's website. BTW, it took 6 days to get it and that was with the chrome lined barrel. I paid about $600 total. As far as reliabilty and quality; I have no complaints whatsoever. I just wished I would have bought the flat top. Oh well, that's just a perfect excuse to buy another RRA!

I don't reload. I just buy bulk!

RRA is one of the best, esp for the money (some would even say better fit, finish, and quality than bushmaster)

for the prices you quoted, i'd get the RRA....

you do save $$$s from reloading, in the LONG run--expect to invest time and money in the reloading equipment...

My RRA is as good as any AR I have. 2ea Colts and a Bushie. I would make sure it has a chromed barrel. But other than that Rock on. WarDawg

RRA is excellent quality.

I prefer Bushmaster barrels, but almost everything else on my rifle is Rock River. The only thing I don't like about Rock River is it seems all they sell are heavy barrels. I don't need or want a heavy barrel carbine. YMMV.

Chrome lining is going to be a personal preference. If you need to be able to abuse the hell out of the rifle or do mag dumps often, then chrome lining is a must. If you just want to plink or shoot recreationally, then it's not a big deal as long as you clean it after shooting. All of my AR's are chrome, but I like the mil-spec barrels.

ETA: for the price you listed I would go with the RRA no matter what barrel it has on it.

I've got several complete RRAs that were purchased off the the shelf and several that have been built up using all RRA components; I enjoy shooting them very much.  I also have a couple Bushmasters and have no complaints on either.   Yes, $650 for the RRA is a really good deal.  I would snag it up before someone else does.

As for reloading, I am contemplating get a press, but at the moment, I am content at offloading all my empty brass at my friend's house and having him reload them for me.

I have a whole stable of RRA's and I shop and study a lot before I purchase anything...what sold me on RRA was my 1911 I purchased from them six years ago.  The 1911 was and still is the finest pistol I have ever held, owned or shot.

The big dollar names cannot even com close to the quality ofn the RRA 1911.

So when it came time to get into AR's, whene dis I go?  The same company that gave me the quality of my 1911.

I have eight complete RRA AR's and a few more in the build stage and I have never looked back.

Not one issue with any.  THE BM are nice, but once you hold and feel a RRA you will know the difference.

So this is kinda funny. I read these posts this morning and i was going to stop by the store after work to ask a few more questions and possiblly make my purchase. Right as i was walking in the store they pulled the gun down to sell it. lol.. O well i think it will be better. ill be able to look a bit more and get just what i want. I do think i am sold on Rockriver, is there a good  web site to buy them from? oh, and one other thing. What is a FFL? to buy off the internet?
