| I apologize upfront for this question, I am new to this. If I buy a complete lower, and a complete upper made from the same company (LMT), is it as easy a snapping it together? I found that I can assemble a complete upper to a complete lower, and save almost 400 dollars. It sounds to good to be true if a few snaps can save hundreds of dollars. |

Your question has already been answered. If they are both in spec they should just slip together and you push in 2 pins. Doesn't matter who made the upper and lower. But $400 savings sounds like an awful lot to me. Are you sure you are comparing identical uppers and lowers to the complete rifle? Sometimes uppers do not include the bolt carrier group. You can save money by buying them separately. A quick look at RRA's web site, you can buy a Entry Tactical upper, complete with BCG, for $605, and a complete lower with 6 position stock and standard trigger for $290 for a total price of $895. The same Tactical Entry rifle, with standard trigger and tactical carry handle lists for $1,015. A savings of $120. But you are not going to get the hard sided carry case and magazine buying the parts. You also aren't going to get any dealer discounts buying the parts. If you go to a stocking RRA dealer you probably can get the rifle cheaper. You can save a bit by buying a stripped lower and a parts kit and building it all yourself. But I still don't think you save much more than $150 or so. |
+1 You shouldn't save much more than a 100 bucks, even if you buy everything stripped and assemble it yourself, as far as complete uppers and lowers go. Now if you bought individual upper parts which include many custom parts, thereby omitting the extra cost in stock parts....that's a different story |
