| Hey guys, I just came back from the range and while cleaning my LMT complete 16" I noticed some rust on the barrel under the front site, the only place not parkerized on the LMT. How do I go about getting the rust off? I don;t know how to get the site off. I was thinking of taking it to the range guys and paying one of them to do it. I want to get it off asap after the holidays before it gets worse. Any advice is appreciated. Happy holidays. |

Um, if the FSB isn't off, how do you know there's rust underneath?
I'd take a brass cleaning brush and some CLP and give the "joint" between the barrel and the bands of the FSB a light scrubbing to remove any rust. Then use a Q-Tip to apply some more oil/CLP to those joints. Wipe off any excess. |
