I am filling out the required forms for a SBR.  Any tips so I doesnt get rejected just becaue of not filling it out the right way.  Should I put "Not Applicable" instead of leaving it blank?  Spell everything out, no abbreviations?  When It just asks for name should I do my full name with middle name?  I just want to make the process go as smooth as possible.

Thanks
Mike

Start at box 1 and go in numerical oreder.  Fill out what is applicable, leave the unused boxes blank.
This info applicable to this Form-1

3b - First name, middle initial, last name
      proper mail address
      city. state, zip
3c - street address if you posted a PO Box in 3b
3d - county
3e - phone #

4a - Bushmaster/Rock River/Colt .... who made the lower
4b - Short Barrel Rifle
4c - caliber (223/5.56mm)
4d - whatever it say on side of lower  (AR-15/XM15.....)
4e - barrel length   (some will say- less than 16")
4f - OAL of rifle (some have put less than 26")
4g - serial # as it appears on the lower
4h - nothing required, unless you want to document misc jibberish on the lower
4i - why you need to have said device...

My forms were done years ago, but my AR is listed in the basic 11.5" dimensions with an A2 stock for length on the form, though I do have various uppers and calibers.... do not concern yourself too much with all the multi caliber/ barrel lengths too much.... the serial is registered to wear a barrel shorter than 16".... longer is allowed also.

My Form 1 was approved with the following terminology:

Length of barrel: "Less than 16 inches"
Length overall: "less than 26 inches"
Caliber: 9mm, 5.56mm
Reason: "Collection, Investment, Defense and all other legal uses"

I agree with mark5pt66, follow the link below to the SBR FAQ. I used it about a month ago and it makes the whole process very easy to understand.  Now all I have to do is sit back and wait.
