Finally found the upper/lower set I wanted in stock. Actually in town, so I went and picked it up. A little pricey, compared to online, out of stock pricing I've seen, but, worth it all the same at least to me. According to the Shop Owner it came from the factory in FDE. I have never seen it anywhere offered in FDE, so I remain a little skeptical about that. Anyway, this is the heart of my next build. Also as a side note Joe Bob has great deals on Anderson lowers, picked up a couple of those also.

This is the Rail I intend for this setup. Got to get it Cerakoted. Vella Industries Trident 15"

Yea, the rail is really light compared to some of the others I have. I'll put it on a scale tomorrow. I also have another Fortis Night Rail coming in 14". They just came out. I try both for weight and make my call

The Vella Titan 15" weighs .46 lbs. or 7.36 oz. When the Fortis Night Rail comes in I'll weigh it. I'm going with a 14.5" Ultramatch LIGHTRIGIDâ„¢ 416R SS .223 Wylde Fluted Lightweight Barrel, and BAD's Titanium Gas Block. All the Titanium Parts I can find, excluding the BCG. Probably a MFT Battlelink Minimalist Stock or Sabertube, still working that.

Bcm kmr rail is the lightest. Not the alpha version but the original.

The vella trident 15" rail weighs in at 11.5oz according to their site

http://www.vellaindustries.com/Vella-Industries-15-Trident-Rail-System-_p_69.html

the 15" BCM KMR weighs in at 8.1oz

https://www.rainierarms.com/bcm-gunfighter-kmr-15

so 3.4oz difference

if you add in the titanium hardware available for the KMR you can save an additional 1.1 oz for a total of 4.5oz savings. In the ultralite world 4.5oz is a huge savings

I'll look again. I weighed just the rail on a digital scale, did not include barrel nut and shims, screws etc.

The older model (Non Alpha) appears to be a Unicorn, out of stock everywhere. The Alpha weighs 10.3 oz. (Non Titanium nut)

I got lucky about a month ago and found the KMR in stock on V7's  website, bought it, next day they were sold out. That was the only time I have ever seen them in stock anywhere though.

Red Barn Armory has some lowers that look similar to the 2a lowers for much less but don't know the weight on them.
