| Looking at putting together an AR for duty / 3-gun shooting. I want a 16 inch government profile. Of course I want quality and reliability. I have heard good things about both LMT and SDI. Which one is better. LMT is cheaper especially since I can get LEO discount. Any opinions. |
Parked' under FSB, each part separately parked vs. parked as a whole unit, use of chrome vanadium steel, etc. etc. etc. |
Here's some info for you about the barrel you are looking at. I hope it helps you:

Not again
Where did you get this info from? I am a bit curious about the details of my SS SDI. |
The shit that comes out of this mans mouth, is hard to digest at times. But then again, this is coming from the guy who said LMT doesn't proof fire their bolts. Deal with it, or break down and cry harder. |

I guess it depends if you want a mid-length or not. If you do, SDI is the only option between the two. I've had an LMT carbine length upper and still have an SDI mid-length upper. I couldn't really tell any difference between them in terms of quaility. They were/are both extremely nice uppers. I just prefer mid-lengths. If no parking under the FSB is a dealer breaker, you should go with the SDI. Also, if you want a 1/9 twist, SDI offers that as well. You really can't go wrong with either. |
I've been very impressed that SDI stamps lot numbers on their barrels. This might be part of their ISO certification in quality control and lot tracking. My SDI rifle is a very nice gun. Having worked for Gov't contractors for most of my adult life, a company holding ISO 9001-2000 certification impresses me much more than one that can meet mil-specs. |
