From what I've been reading, many people rank the Hornady 75gr TAP in 5.56. Is this round sealed or crimped like the M193 or M855 class rounds? And in a SHTF scenario where you may need to store your ammo in less than ideal conditions for an undetermined length of time, will the Hornady hold up? Just wondering before I try and build up any significant stockpile.

It has no sealant but is crimped. Store it in an ammo can and you will be fine. Seal it with your own primer sealant if you are paranoid.

Is it true that clear nail polish works for sealing??

I dont know, Iam not paranoid.

To be sure youd have to do some underwater testing of your sealed ammo. I am not really up for such a test.

I have, and use the Hornady 5.56mm loading of their 75 gr TAP round.  I have also used the .223 loading of the 75 gr TAP round. (the 5.56mm version is only sold to LEO with a signed "Please don't sue me waiver" on file").  Both are good rounds that shoot well in my rifles (1/7 colt barrels).

I want ammunition with a cannalure and crimped primers if I am going to use them in an AR15, especially for Self Defense, Law Enforcement work, or SHTF.

I keed my ammunition sotred in .50 cal ammo cans.  Not worried about storage problems, even if I'm living in a tent, ect.

I stock some of the 75 gr load for work , self defense, enough to load my vest twice.  But I can't afford to stock it by the thousand(s), so I also stock 5.56mm M193 or M855 ammunition.  This last is for a long term SHTF situation, and also because it's not getting any cheaper!
