LOL! When I first saw the thread title, I was thinking to myself, great I'm actually going to see ARs in SHTF action, then when I opened the first post it said "Post pictures of your SHTF rifle!".

Well, here's my current SHTF carbines, my main one on the bottom Colt 6721 with Operator Denny's barrel and my backup on top LMT Defender 2000 with 16" M4 type barrel.

My former SHTF '92 L.A. riots carbine that I used looks like this (but not actually this carbine) a Colt model R6530 plain Jane Lightweight carbine

LAR Grizzly lower
LMT LPK
Milspec CTR
MOE grip with batteries for the EOTech
Cerro forge upper
Noveske 14.5" SS middy with pinned Vortex
M&A M16 Bolt carrier with BCM bolt
EOTech
Troy HK style BUIS
Blue Force "vickers" sling, Daniel Defense rail mount QD swivel set up
30rd PMag full of SSA 77grn OTM ammo.

Stuff to be changed...
Troy Industries MRF 10" rail to replace the YHM.  I like the slimmer feel of the Troy rail.
I'd like to add a Surefire light to the forearm, haven't figured out which one yet.

This is my "go-to" gun.  It's light enough to carry all day if I have to, it has been 100% reliable so far, it shoots "minute of bad guys head" at 100yd and "minute of bad guy" at 200 with the EOTech or iron sights.  I think I could get some really sweet groupings with it if I were to use a magnified optic, but that's not what I built the gun for.  It's main purpose is for 0-200yd encounters, be it coyotes bothering the horses, some dirtbag trying to hurt/kill/rob me or my family or whatever else could go wrong.  I would trust this rifle to get me through any imaginable situation that would require the use of a firearm.

I'll play:

I'd grab the Noveske/LMT as my "go to" gun (with my Glock 19 or USP .45 as my secondary).  My backup would be my LMT (w/Colt BCG) M4 clone.  I am waiting for the new Noveske single point sling mount point to arrive for the LMT/Noveske.  Once it arrives I will use a Gear Sector single point on the Noveske (and prob. transition to an Aimpoint T-1 as the ACOG will go onto a FDE SOPMOD Block II clone I am working on).  Currently I have a LaRue sling which I swap between the rifles.

Noveske/LMT Carbine (Going to eventually switch the MOE handguard, grip, and SOPMOD for FDE versions; AAC Blackout F/H mount, SOPMOD stock, MOE handguard, Surefire X300, Noveske N4 basic, LMT M-16 BCG, ACOG TAO1 ECOS, MOE grip):

Backup: LMT USGI M4 MWS Carbine Clone (Aimpoint Comp M2 in Wilcox mount, KAC RIS, Matech BUIS, Colt A2 grip, Colt side swing swivel, Colt M-16 BCG, Colt M4 gen II stock).

All it needs is an Aimpoint CompML3 on a Larue LT129 mount and a Troy folding rear sight.

This for now.

Stag upper, Oly lower, Surefire M73 rail system, Tango Down vertical grip, Aimpoint ML3 in ARMS mount, ergo grip, Izzy buttbad, custom sling my unit tailor made for me, Izzy mag clamp, Surefire M3 light in DD offset mount.

Once I put an optic on my other rifle, it will be:

CMMG lower, LMT upper, ghetto rigged IR laser (from night vision thread), Surefire G2 with drop-in LED from TNVC, ergo grip, same recoil pad, different custom 2-point sling, and some optic. Haven't decided yet.
