Can these be used on regular ar-15 lower receivers?

If you mean a genuine SP1 upper then you need an SP1 lower. Unless you want to use an adapter. SP1s used an oversized pivot pin, 0.312", and Colt went away from that about 10yrs ago.

If you mean the M16/SP1 uppers as sold by CDNN and others then yes these will fit any standard lower currently on the market. These are not SP1 uppers despite what the ads say (don't know why they keep doing it). These are genuine M16/M16A1 uppers with the standard 0.250" pivot pins.

So the ones CDNN sells work with standard lowers?  Why the heck don't they say that?

Yep, they'll work with any standard lower. Even current Colts. I sure don't know why they confuse the issue by putting the SP1 in the ad. Maybe they think they won't catch any flack for selling "full-auto-M16-assault-rifle-parts-to-the-masses." <shrug>

They do say so. The ad clearly states "small hole"

Yeah, they finally got around to it; but then they reconfuse the issue by keeping the SP1 designation.

If they don't want to refer to them as M16A1 uppers, they really should just call them "Colt AR small hole uppers" and leave it at that.

Are they worth a damn or are they very used uppers?

The ad says they are factory new...so I'd assume they are unused.  Mine certainly looked brand new when I opened the box.

Gotta link or are they only in the SGN?  I don't get their catalog anymore.

The one I received from CDNN was brand new. IMHO very much worth the money and besides, if for some reason you wouldn't be satified they'll make it right one way or another. www.cdnninvestments.com/arsp1upnewco.html
