Upper has late type oval handguards, is this correct?
Barrel markings on top C NP Chrome Bore
C M markings beneath windage adjustment

Sorry, all the ???? on the year caught my eye. It would have come with triangular handguards.

What is the barrel length? 20" barrel should have triangular handguards, 16" should have round.

It is a 20" barrel.
Will the old handguards just replace the newer ones or do I have to get the proper cap?

Another question about the Triangular handguards.
Were they all the shiny plastic like the early ones or did they change material in them like they did the later buttstocks?
If so,does anyone know where I can get some?

Shiny Handguards I don't really want unless they were the only ones made.
What I am asking, did Colt change the handguard material like they did on the buttstocks on the later SP1's.
If they did,that is what I am looking for to put on my rifle.
If not, I will get the shiny plastic and put them on it.
My buttstock is the newer one, not the shiny one although it is an A1 length.
Also, did Colt put the later buttstocks on the SP1 as stock?
I looked at one today(older than mine) and it had the shiny ones(both buttstock& handguards)
