The BCG stopped about half way closed and the problem was the rear trigger pin had push out on the dust cover side of the receiver.  It was not a problem to push it back in but how can i prevent this in the future?

This is puzzling because the trigger and hammer pins are grooved fro retention.  The legs of the hammer spring should be on top of the trigger pin, thus sitting in one of the grooves and preventing it from popping out.  Is your hammer spring properly installed?  Are they GI or equivalent trigger and hammer pins?

The rear legs of the hammer spring should be on top of the trigger pin, not under it on the bottom of the receiver cutout.

This thread has a picture looking down into the fire control group.  See the position of the rear legs of the hammer spring

It appears that the trigger and hammer pins do not have the retention groove in them.

The pins should look like the ones in the picture of all the orange magazine followers in this thread.  There are 2 grooves in each pin and they are identical.

If they're smooth, they might have been replaced.  I'm not aware of smooth pins ever being standard on an SP1.
