I have a friend that is wanting a suppressed rifle to shoot prairie dogs. He wants the best and has decided on a Noveske rifle. The million dollar question is
this: What kind of accuracy can I expect out of a Noveske 18" SPR? I have been using a RRA 24" varminter for some time with great effect and would have recommended the Noveske
20" varmint instead, but the SPR is much more suppressor friendly. He wants to use the AAC SPR/M4 suppressor. Getting a barrel threaded is a pain in the ass, but that is
what we will do if the SPR isn't accurate enough. Anything over 3/4 MOA for prairie dogs is really too much.

Thanks for the help.

It would really depend on the individual rifle and ammo combination.  But one of the most accurate ARs I ever shot was a Noveske with a 14.5 inch barrel.  It's the only Noveske I've shot, but they can make an accurate gun for sure.  More barrel length won't make a gun more accurate, it will only add weight, and allow you to get more velocity if youi load it right.  An 18-20" barrel gets you most of the powder burn in a 5.56 rifle anyway.

I'm sure that Novekse rifle is capable of sub-MOA. Get the switchblock version if you are going to use a suppressor. The LaRue OBR Lite is also capable of sub-MOA and is cheaper than the Noveske according to website prices.

I havent used a Noveske product but I would say the simple answer is "It depends".

I'm sure every barrel Noveske turns out is capable of under 1 MOA with handloads. I'd bet many of them would be under 1 MOA with the right factory load. But theres a lot of variables there so its hard to say what YOU will get with YOUR barrel and YOUR loads.

The problem is people assume if they spend X amount of money they should be getting Y groups. I'm sure theres some Noveske barrels that will print 1/2 groups when it all comes together. But its not entirely fair to say "Noveske barrels shoto 1/2 groups" as a blanket statement because thats probably more often than not not going to be the case. Of course to put out a realistic number that covers most all scenarios turns people off too. Do you really want to be told "Your Noveske will print 1.25" groups"? No, not really.

So people want to hear a half inch but need to be aware it could be one and a half inch....... Which brings us full circle to "It depends".

My Noveske 18" 6.8 SPR made 1 ragged  hole 5 and 10 shot groups at 100 yards with a 4x ACOG shooting prone w/ bipod, out of the box and zeroed.
