I know they make M855 (US SS109) but last time I used that I was in a USMC line company. The only M855 Ball ammo I know of that is available here in the US in from IMI.

a friend of mine has access to several thousand rounds of the SS109 Lake City ammo, and he wants to know what a fair price is for it.

This "Friend" wouldn't happen to be in the service would he? Sounds like stolen property to me. If you must get a price check I would look at whatever IMI M855 is going for at Botach or Wideners.
