Can you get a lighter trigger spring for a SSA-E ?

Why? It's light enough at 2, and 2.5 per stage

That could be a defect.  I'd call Geiselle on Monday personally.

This. That weight or perceived weight is nowhere near correct.  Did you put a trigger pull gauge on it yet?

SSA-E pull weight is actually 3.5 pounds. 2 pound first stage, 1.5 second.

Some unintended misinformation above. Not 2.0 and 1.5 either.  The SSA-E has a 1.2 pound second stage and 2.3 pound first stage for a total pull through of 3.5.

On a semiauto AR rifle that is not a dedicated bench gun, I would not want a second stage lighter than 1.2 pounds.

Perhaps OP's trigger is installed incorrectly.  Call Geissele for support.

Also, the published pull weights are "nominal," not "guaranteed to ±5%" or any such nonsense.  The product page for each of their triggers shows in red "All weights are approximates."

OP, my SSA-E, installed carefully to Geissele's (well written) instructions, is smooth, light and very crisp.  If yours isn't, there's a problem.  I'd first try taking it out and reinstalling it very carefully, following the instructions step-by-step, including using their supplied grease where instructed, then try it out again.  Keep your eyes on the drawings that come with the instructions - that way you won't have any issues with "which way does that spring go?"

If that doesn't fix the issue, give 'em a call Monday, and/or post in their Industry Forum.
