| Some of the primed cases have silver primers, some are brass colored. Art, what brand(s) are they. Shoot the same I hope? |
Yep, sounds like you have it figured out. The silver could be CCI 450 which should be a mag primer too but, I'm not going to answer that one for Art. SSA loads for the military so the CCI 41s are a no-brainer. They use ball powders in all of their loads which ignite better with mag. primers and they already use CCI so the silver 450 is more than likely because they wouldn't use the soft Federals(also silver) remington(who Art hates) are brass, Winchesters are silver too. |

AH, New rifle? Pushing a nylon brush through from back to front between each shot is a good idea, Be careful not to smack the crown as you drag any jag back through. After 20+ years I did it myself this last summer and had to recrown before it would shoot decent. Assuming your shooting a 6.8, I'm trying to save you a little grief here, 4198 is very fast and has a short stroke problem in most rifles. it depends on what bullet you're using but, if you have that problem just swap to H335 or Paulo has had good luck with X-terminator. I've had great results with 90gr TNTs and 29gr of RE7 set to 2.3" good luck |
| I'm loading 90 gr TNT's as that's what I have most of. I have R10x, H380, H414. Basically I'm just blasting a few out the back yard through a chronograph, just to get some rounds for break in through it. If it short stroakes I'm not too worried as I'll just put a couple rounds in to see if it racks ok. That sound ok? |
