| Sabre Defence barrels worth the money? |
|
I think most people will agree, Sabre Defence Barrels are top quality and are "worth" the extra money they charge.
But, depending on how you'll use your Rifle, do you need a Sabre Defence Barrel? or will you be just as happy with a less expensive barrel, just something to think about. Like stated, people rarely regret leaning toward higher quality. When I bought my barrel, everywhere was back-ordered by months or longer. I lucked into finding a left over Sabre Barrel at MSRP, and bought it, I'm happy I got what I paid for, when many far lesser quality barrels were going for close to the same price, if you could find them. Don't know if barrels are becoming more available, but if your in the same situation as I was, the only barrel you can find is a Sabre that was more than you wanted to spend, don't worry, the higher price is NOT a rip-off, its because the barrel is top quality. |

ok then they r good thanks. im planning to build either a 6.8 or 6.5 grendel. i do my on reloading i know ill save come $$$$$ Sabre doesn't make the 6.8 SPC - only the 6.5 Grendel...here's an excerpt from their FAQ's. "2. What calibers does Sabre offer? Sabre currently offers rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, 6.5 Grendelâ„¢ and .204 Ruger. More calibers will be available in the future. We are constantly asked about the 6.5 round versus the 6.8 SPC. We believe that comparing the 6.5 round to the 6.8 round is a huge misunderstanding of what each cartridge was designed to accomplish. Currently, we are very pleased with the 6.5 Grendelâ„¢ round for both long-range and tactical purposes, and have no immediate intention of adding the 6.8 SPC as a caliber offering. We do not try to compare the cartridges, since their design was intended for different purposes. The .308 is another source of frequent questions. Our only comment at this time is that if Sabre offers a rifle in .308 in the future, it will be unique and meet or exceed the Sabre ideal of a quality rifle." Cheers, Sakic #19 |
