Safe Interior pic thread

Hey gang, I'd like to see some pics of the interior of your safe... where your collection lives.

My safe is average size (not sure of the exact measurements) and I'm getting to the point where everything doesn't fit anymore, or pieces don't have a place that fits them.

The AKs SBRs and SBS for example. With the safe set up the way it cam from the factory, these guns don't have a place "short enough" for them. I'm thinking of making some modifications, but would like to see how everybody has stuff set up.

I keep all my guns under my bed, I'd show a pic...but I'm a bit embarrassed about my collection of girly magazines and pizza boxes.

For the shorter long guns, I use M16 sectioned cleaning rods. I insert them partially into the muzzle and wrap some electrical tape around the cleaning rod section, so that it doesn't drop through the barrel. The cleaning rod rests into the cuts outs in the safes for the hand guards.

Or you can place a box on the floor of the safe to raise the rifle high enough for the hand guards to rest on the hand guard shelf cut outs in the safe.

For AKs, you can pull out the under barrel cleaning rods out far enough to rest on the hand guard shelf cut outs in the safe.

Maybe let them sit on a full ammo can.

My safes rifle rests are also too high up for the AR’s with collapsible stocks. So what I did was build a shelf out of wood, and covered it with a roll of grey automotive carpet from Auto Zone.

The carpet matches the safes interior carpet perfectly and the shelf raises the rifles up high enough to sit securely in the rests. This shelf also gives you back lost space.

For my pistols, I purchased a rubber covered pot lid holder from WalMart. My pistols sit perfectly in this stand as if it was built for pistols.
