Apparently no one's experienced with the Sarco stuff.  From what I see from their website they seem like a surplus, refurber type place.  I'm tempted to order some stuff from them for my retro A1 build, but I'm a little hesitant because: 1) apparently you have to call, fax or mail an order in, no online ordering.  2) They have a notice on their front page saying they may have lost your order if you placed it around such and such dates.  3) they have few (if any) pictures of the products they are selling.  They have just a list of their part #, price and a brief description.  That alone makes me a little worried that I may not end up getting what I think I'm ordering.

Seriously, you don't want that kit.

IF you KNOW exactly what part you are buying from them, then Sarco is great.

Kits, though, are cobled together from all sorts of junk.

From Sarco I have seen plastic trigger guards & mag buttons, bolts with machine makrs on the face that look like some guy in his garage built, etc.

Also got a genuine Colt carrier for $50 once too.

Buyer beware at Sarco!
I bought a Luger magazine from them that didn't even fit in the gun.

Handgun grips that had to be hand fitted.

It is inexpensive stuff, but I would only buy if you welcome a challenge.

I bought a couple gun-parts sets from SARCO (but they weren't AR-15's).  The stuff that showed up was NOT from "a gun" but rather cobbled together from multiple sources.  The condition of the parts I ordered ranged from new and still in the wrapper all the way down to unservicable junk that I wound up tossing out and everything in between.

That was my one and only buying experience with them.  Always seeing them say in their advertizements "found after being lost in our warhouse for 10 years" gave me the impression of complete and utter incompetance - so I take my business to places I can trust even if it means paying an extra buck or two.

years ago,  on more than one occasion, I bought M16A1 barrels from them.
they were brand new COLT 1:12 chrome beauties.

I miss them days.

Yes- exactly.  IF you know what you are buying, then Sarco is the best.  I bought a bolt carier for a Galil from them.  Got just what I expected.

but, the whole AR kit? Bad idea.
