I will be building my Sbr soon with a 11.5 upper and have many options so I wanted opinions. Do some or most of you use the Sbr as your first line of defense or not? I am planning on putting Troy flip ups on it and not sure if I should keep my Aimpoint Pro on it with a flashlight as well?
Should I keep it simple and leave flip ups on it and just a flashlight? This will be my road gun for frequent trips within my state just in case I run into some real knuckleheads on the road. I also need a low key way of carrying the Sbr from car to the car like a tennis racket holder if anyone has a suggestion on that as well. Thanks |

Thanks I do a red dot and BUIS sights, personally I like the steel Magpuls for the BUIS. A flashlight is a must on any rifle imo. |

Quality RDS and a light. this skip the BUIS and I think ROTECHS are better on a pistol the reticel gets larger the further away it gets from the shooters eye. making it more like a ghost ring with a circle in it. as for lights a TLR-HL1 is a very light small 600lumen option. |

I have a 10.3" .300BLK pistol that will (hopefully) soon be an SBR. I currently have a lgiht and a set of Magpul MBUS sights, will be moving my RDS over to it once I get a LPVO for my 16" rifle.
At a minimum, a good RDS and a flashlight, a set of flipup irons will be good in the case of a dead battery. I've heard good things about the Sneaky Bags and they come in multiple different lengths. |
| my Mk18 indexes fairly quickly for me with just the carry handle sights and front sight post... just a light... I have a 10.5" pistol upper with a Vortex Spitfire that has the reticle etched on the prism that I use occasionally on the SBR lower for run and gun matches... that way I still have a sight if the light doesn't work |

I actually Googled ROTECH sight like I was missing out on something, then I figured out what you meant. |

Thanks I tend to prefer a simple, clean carbine for HD.  I have two setup. For myself, I like my 16" BCM, DD A1.5 BUIS, Surefire G2X on a VTAC mount.  A red dot is very nice to have, but not a necessity for me for a strictly indoor carbine.  My carbines that do dual purpose all have optics.  For my wife, I have a 11.5" BCM SBR, Aimpoint Pro, MBUS Rear (FSB front), and a Streamlight Tac2 setup.  Simple and clean, she doesn't shoot much, so a RDS is much more important for her, than for me.  |

Waiting on 2 stamps for my MPX, but when that's in that'll be the go-to over the pistol.
4.5in bbl, suppressor, Tritium HK height BUIS, Dual Illuminated RMR triangle co-witnessed, Light, sling. BUIS left up -- basically these are primary sights at night with this setup, then the RMR pops during the day. Don't have to mess with anything. |

I have my MK18 set up with a M300 light, sling and a set of DD sights. I actually like the little rifle better with only irons. I only shoot close range with it. I have put an acog on it just to try it out at longer distances and was surprised at how accurate it was.
