Looking for a first AR and someone directed me here, but I've never heard of them.

Anyone know if they're any good? It looks like a fairly good deal to me.

Thanks!, D

I own the patrol rifle 2 pro. It's a good shooter. I never had any problems with it. It was my first ar and if I were to do it again I'd probably get something else. I live in Tucson where they're from and was supporting the local company. For the price of the one your looking at just go with a colt. Holds value. Scionics not so much. If you have any specific questions im or email me.

Looks like a good gun on paper (a lot of quality components), but the company as a whole is not very well known.

I ordered a Patrol Rifle1 Upper from Sionics:

http://sionicsweaponsystems.com/store/product.php?id_product=23

I was about to buy a BCM upper but read several very good reviews on Sionics (including the quality of parts, assembly process, and testing).

I also prefer Sionics' 1:8 twist, medium contour, 41v50 barrel along with the fact that they perform comprehensive non-destructive testing in lieu of HPT.

When you factor in the Magpul hand guard that's included, the Sionics upper is about $120 less than a comparable BCM upper.

The upper arrived today and it looks great...I'm looking forward to getting some range time with it soon.

A co-worker has a Patrol 3. It is a great shooter, top grade components and they use nondestructive radiographic/MPI  testing in order ensure a quality product. Dollar for Dollar, I think Sionics makes a better weapon than most in the same price range.

For example, compare the Patrol 0 ( $999)from Sionics to the Colt 6920

Good of you to say. If I can share something with the class, I had a sionics ordered during the great 2012-2013 gun scare, but everyone panic bought and my order ended up getting delayed, I found a spikes rifle for sale at my lgs and I picked it up. Cancelled my sionics order and I don't regret it one bit. Sionics makes good kit, but I'm going spikes for the win.

From everything I can find the SIONICS products are rock solid quality builds.I like the way they test the barrels, and very pleased to see the 1:8 twist as standard in chrome lined barrels....needless to say Im very fond of that barrel twist and is what actually caught my attention with SIONICS.
I was intrigued enough to very seriously start looking at the III XL,then newer model SIONICS 16" Geissele Midlength was released, much more of what I wanted, especially for the money. They have the option available for the Vltor A5 so that saves me even more effort.Anyway, thats what Im currently saving up for as my next rifle,so ask me in a couple months what I think of SIONICS.

I have a Patrol II 12.5" SBR from them, and the rifle shoots very well.  I have put 500 rounds down it since purchase. I also like the CMC trigger, not as nice as the Wilson trigger but still a nice trigger.  I say GTG!

I've done a lot of research and spoken with the Sionics folks several times.  They were away over SHOT but I'm ordering the Patrol Rifle Zero tomorrow.  Only thing I'll add to it is an Aimpoint PRO.  Looking forward to receiving it in a week or so (told me they had plenty in stock before SHOT).  They come highly recommended on TOS and some of those folks had a hand in helping with the design and startup.
