I have a Bushmaster Varminter with a 16" fluted HBAR. The rifle is used for target shooting from 100 to 500 yds. I need everyone's input on which of these scopes would do the best job. I'm also open to any other scope suggestions. I would like to have target turrents and I need to keep it below $400. I plan also on mounting the scope in an Armalite mount. Mueller 4-16 x50 Tactical Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x40 Super Sniper 10x42 Thanks in advance, Mike |

I have heard good things about the Bushnell Elite series of scopes. the ones I have looked thru were clear and bright. I have read mixed reviews of Mueller and Super Sniper scopes but have not actually tried one of them yet. take a look at the Burris Fullfield II line of scopes - they are excellent scopes for the money Burris 4.5-14x42 Fullfield II Tactical Rifle Scope Burris 6.5-20x50 Fullfield II Rifle Scope |
| i have a 4x16-50mm tactical mil dot mueller. its very long and 1/8 clicks thats what i dont like about it . but the glass is not bad for the money. i have had it mounted on a 5.56, 308, 300win mag and a 6mm rem. it is on a 5.56 varment ar now. it has never lost zero on any of them. i can not afford good glass on all of my rifles. for the money i have been very happy with it . the 3x10-44 tac II is nice it is 1/4 clicks and mildot but does not have a adjustable obj. its made in japan. the glass on it is better. the burris scopes are nice but the one i shot the whole eye piece rotates to adjust the magnification so if you use flip caps they turn with it. i did not like that. well thats my 2 cents hope it helps. i have 2 nikon tacticals, 1 4x14-40 buckmaster sf mildot, mueller tactical 4x16-50 mildot, tac II, and a mueller apv (rim fire), swfit 2x7-40 thats what i have to compare to. the nikon buckmaster is nice for the money also. |
