I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right forum, but if I'm not I know somebody will correct me. A couple years ago, i had a stainless rifle and bought a silver scope to go on it, a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14AO. Well, I later sold the rifle and of all the ones I have now, NONE  are stainless. Now I'm stuck with a silver scope I don't wanna put on any of my guns because it would just look kinda weird. My question is, should I paint this scope black or some other color? Is this even reasonable? If I'm gonna paint it, should i paint the whole rifle the same color? If I do paint it, whats the best way to go about it?

This scope is one of my favorites and its crystal clear, I sure dont want to get rid of it. Thanks in advance.

I have painted two scopes.

I just use Krylon.

I just cover the glass real well, and mask the numbers on the power setting and spray away.

I think duracoat would be good stuff to paint your scope. Seems like many people on this board have used duracoat to paint their scopes. I used duracoat to paint my handguards and it came out great, very pleasant appearance.

Take your time and do it right... The best thing about Duracoat is you can do it yourself, for 18.00 bucks you can have a nice looking scope.
