Folks,
I'm debating between the two scopes below for my first "real" scope. I'm not sure if it is going on my Colt 6700 20" HBAR or my Colt 16" 6920. I've never shot beyond 100 yards, but I'm trying to learn how to shoot some long distance. I don't know a lot about what I'm looking at below. Can anyone offer any advice? I'm only using the weapon at the range. Midway has the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam Rifle Scope 3-10x 40mm 1/10 Mil Adjustments Mil-Dot Reticle Matte for $269 with free shipping Cope's has the Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 Scope 3-9x 40mm w/ Rings (91740) for $250 Please let me know if I need to provide more information or there's a better recommendation out there beyond what I listed above. ETA: fixed link Thanks in Advance, T.J. |
I'd go with the weaver for the simple fact that the leupold reticle is calibrated for 55g bullet and i hate scopes that are calibrated for a certain weight of bullet. I actually own 2 of the weavers but I have not been able to get them to the range since i am deployed.

| The Nikon is too gimicky and not as nice as the other two. I've owned both the Weaver and the Leupold. The weaver is a better scope. IMO the turrets and the reticle are better on it. The Leupold reticle is too hard to discern the half mil and full mil marks quickly. |

Bushnell 4.5-18 for $89
I just ordered this. Never owned one, but for $89 I couldn't pass it up. Use coupon code "bushnell10". Maybe someone else can say worth it or not. |
