| I'm looking to get a scope for my new AR build, but I don't wanna spend an assload of money I just want an entry level scope or red dot. I've always been a fan of iron sights but I'm finding they seem to be a bit expensive for AR's. Soo I need some suggestions |

If you are a fan of iron sights does your new AR come with iron sights and FSB? If not you can get a front sight for $125 and a rear sight for about $100. That is $225. You can get budget or recreational red dots for about $200 like Bushnell for example. But if you want a decent scope system you can get a quality Aimpoint or Eotech for $300-$600. But just what is inexpensive to you? Remember, you need a mount of some sort and anything good is $100-$150. Many here use a scope of sorts and back up iron sights. Another option is to go to LaRue.com and get the new Burris sight system with mount for $299. Good luck! Daryn |
Well I just bought a regular flat top upper. I think 225 is excessive for iron sights just straight up. Why is it that Iron sights for AR-15's are soo expensive? Iron sights for other guns are waay cheaper |

Now this is still on topic, but can anyone explain the description of this scope to me. cgi.ebay.com/LEAPERS-4X32-SCOPE-RIFLE-MIL-DOT-HUNTING-rangefinder_W0QQitemZ290087318194QQihZ019QQcategoryZ31714QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Notice it says mounts to anything with a weaver, picatinny or standard rail and then it says it will not attach to any assault rifle in parenthesis LOL Ooh and how are leapers scopes just as an entry level type scope? |

What kind of scope are you shopping for? I have this one: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=746570 For the price, you can't beat it. It's not "tactical" or "X-treme", and doesn't have SWAT written on the side, but if you just want a scope that is durable and works well, this one is hard to beat. b. |

I got my scope from this guy. He had the best prices I could find anywhere on the net. www.eurooptic.com |

There is a Michigan manufacturer Mueller Optics which has many scopes, got mine at a local gun shop for $219, you could pay 5 times as much for a comparable scope!however they are at Gander Mtn. also... here is a good review, expect to pay for riser and rings: Sniper Central did a positive evaluation: http://www.snipercentral.com/muellertac.htm |
| Well I'm not really sure what type of scope/sight I want. I really like iron sights because they offer me great versaility and up to this point I've been effective with them out to 120 yards. Effective for me, because I shoot maybe 50yd-100 yard shots about 5 times a year and the rest and 30 yards and under, is a 6 shot pattern on a 7" pie plate at 100 yards. I've never owned a scoped gun but have shot a lot of them and have been more preferable to a red-dot because its easy on the eyes with speed shooting and target aquisition. |
