| If I get a 16 inch what kind of scope should I get for it? Would it look stupid to have a 16" barrel, and a nice scope on the carry handle? Im kind of leaning towards the 16 inch barrel, but unsure of the scope type. 90% of my shooting will be under 200 yards, so the 16 inch should be just fine. Im not interested in the red dot scopes, as they are too expensive for my blood, and for my intended purpose, which is to hit paper at 100-200 yards. Please advise. Thanks! |

duuuhhh, can't make up your mind or what??? http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=183632&w=myTopicPop FWIW, an A2 upper places a standard scope to high above the bore and makes a consistent cheek weld an iffy proposition. Suggest you chose a flat-top, and while your at it.... MAKE UP YOUR MIND! BTW, ya poo-poo'd the red-dots and then turned around and stated "which is to hit paper at 100-200 yards", something they are very good at....., [whacko] Mike |

That's putting it mildly... Your post history here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=177914&w=searchPop “I cannot decide between a 16" barrel, or a 20" barrel, so please sway me one way or the other” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=179183&w=searchPop “Is it possible to put a scope on an A2 upper? I also am having a hard time deciding on a 16 or 20 inch barrel” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=179584&w=searchPop “At what point would I be able to notice a difference between a 16 and 20 inch barrel?” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=179895&w=searchPop “kinda leaning towards the 16" midlength upper at adco. 5.56 chamber, and its made by RRA.” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=182745&w=searchPop “and will be ordering an A2 upper with 16 inch barrel” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=183293&w=searchPop “Still deciding between 16" car or midlength, or 20". Another question....my disconnector was failing to let go of the hammer when I released the trigger, so I used a stone to take a little off of the arm on the disconnector and now it works great. Was that stupid?” http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=183632&w=searchPop “I am looking for a 5.56 20" upper, but am having a hard time finding one. I have a RRA lower already done and set to go, just looking for the upper now. On RRA's website, all the 20" uppers have the .223 wylde chambers. I dont know much about those. Anybody know where I can find a 5.56 20" upper to mount on my RRA lower? Thanks.” And finally back to this thread where we have: “Im kind of leaning towards the 16 inch barrel” Yep I’d say you have problems, I think when ya get around to shooting the rifle you’ll find you have trigger problems, and probably should have spent the last 3 months reading here instead of vacillating and posting inane questions. In fact given your obvious difficulty with things that aren’t that difficult, I’m thinking you probably would have been better off NOT going the “build route". Any how, thanks for the entertainment, you’re quite a character. Mike added: Just for my own edification, How old are you? |

Thanks Mike, you've been a big help. Edited to add: I wrote that with a sense of sarcasm to it, but now I think I actually mean it. I do think your post was not necessary, and a bit on the rude side, but because of it, I am going to be much more critical of what I post on here, which, I believe, will be for the better, and for that....I thank you. |
