I have never used a Millet scope, but I have never seen good/bad reviews either. I have a ACOG and a couple Aimpoints that are great . I think for my current .22 build, I'll try a Burris Timberline 2x7. The size is about 9.5" and 7 power should be enough for 50 yard shooting at sage rats.

Also thinking about the leupold ar scope.. or eotec....  just dont know about the eotec for 200 plus shots.. I like some magnification.  Just never looked thru a lower powered ar type scope....  I just like the idea of have close and little further range.

Lots of info.  I just ordered the KonusPro 30 1-4 from B&H for half the price of most places.  Haven't received it yet, so can't endorse.

I just built my first AR and like you have been looking in to scope optons.

At this point, I'm saving my money (wife put me on a toy budget) and leaning towards one of the new, Nikon M-223 scopes.

They're designed for 55 grain, .223 cartridges and have gotten great reviews.  They also have four or five to choose from with various magnificaton and reticle options.

I think they range from $200 up to about $450.  I'm leaning towards the 3-12 with Nikoplex reticle but haven't decided.  I think it will be rare that I need more than 9X magnification, but at some point I might.

Nikon has a pretty cool infomercial on Youtube.  You might want to check it out.  Here's the link.

EDIT: Midway reports that they will be available 4/30/2010.  I don't know if that is the case but them, OpticsPlanet and others are taking pre-orders.

Regards,

John
